To fix the problem:
1. Open NOD 32 Antivirus
2. Press F5 to open Advanced settings.
3. From left side menus : Choose WEB AND EMAIL
4. Now from right side : Scroll down to SSL/TLS > Enable SSL/TLS protocol filtering (Uncheck)
Now open Thunderbird and check whether the mails can be downloaded or not.
If everything OK, then enable Protocol filtering (undo the Unchecked in step 4).
If NOT, kindly let me know in this discussion.
